Well, the holidays are over, but for some of us that only means that we now a few loonnnggg, cold months of winter staring us in the face. Many of us like to get busy cleaning, organizing, and de-cluttering and that is a great place to start, but I always like to try and celebrate this cold season, if even just a little.
And what better way, than with some winter DIY ideas after Santa has left the building? 😉
6 cozy winter DIY ideas
#1 – If you CAN get outside to go skating, sledding, or skiing, even better, right?
But if it’s just not in the plans, you can still celebrate the idea of it all with a skate, sled, or ski type vignette like this one from Bungalow Blues Interiors.
#2 – A warm blanket is almost a requirement this time of year for many of us, but not all of them are as warm “looking” as this 45-minute DIY arm knit blanket from Simply Maggie.

#3 – Love the cozy yarn idea, but you don’t know how to knit? Make a DIY yarn wrapped lamp, bottle, vase, jar, tin can, etc…
#4 – Don’t just drink hot cocoa, make your own hot cocoa station from one of the many adorably rustic cocoa and coffee station ideas from Funky Junk Interiors.
#5 – Celebrate citrus! The snow might be falling, but the sun is definitely shining on these DIY citrus crates from A Piece of the Rainbow.
#6 – Give some snowbird love to those winged friends who didn’t fly south for the winter by making a bird attraction like these mercury glass bird feeders.
I hope some of these ideas are getting you motivated to get cozy, creative, and ready to enjoy the frosty weather while it lasts, that is, if you happen to have it.
The winter solstice has already passed in the northern hemisphere, so that means every day has just a little more daylight. Yay!
It won’t be long now and we’ll be shedding our parkas, just you wait and see.
Now that the holidays are over, do you like to get busy with a diy project or do you like to take a break?

i have knitted just once in my life, a blanket for my first grandson because that’s what grandmas are supposed to do right lmao, i used a loom and knit it so tight it weighs a ton and for the life of me and 67 videos later could not figure out how to finish off the last corner, even though it was wonky my daughter and son in law received it with the proper ohhs and ahhs and my poor grandson had to suffer having it put on him and them it was passed to my second grandson and he had to endure it also, so i went to maggie’s site to look at video and was lost with the first stitch, so maybe i will just get back to painting the walls in the kitchen so i can at least get something finished in this dang house lol xx p.s. you are not going to believe this but i hate the newspaper in my bathroom when i close the door the walls come in and make the room smaller than it is already and because i am a reader of all things i have read and reread all of the articles so many times so there it sits not finished while i try to come up with something, maybe crashing out all of the drywall and starting over oh lord xx
