When my sister called me on Sunday, I was knee deep in a list of things that had to get done. She asked if I wanted to go with her to a pumpkin patch in DeKalb, and I answered, “Sure!”

Of course I wanted to spend time with her, but I also knew what she was really asking.
“Do you want to take a ride to the country this afternoon so we can scarf down some of those homemade apple cinnamon donuts?”

Honestly, there isn’t anything I don’t love about visiting one of these pumpkin patches.
The scent of fall in the air, the rosy-cheeked children running amiss; the first chance to wear that new sweater…

Escaping the real world for a while.

Discovering new things.
Old drawers turned berry picking crates?

Experiencing the harvest first hand.

Vowing to find a purpose in everything…

…and everyone…

…and everyday.
Vowing to find a purpose in everything, everyone and everyday.
Although I got absolutely nothing done that day but share a dozen apple cinnamon donuts with my sister,
I believe I did it with purpose. And maybe a stomach ache later on.
Here’s hoping your day has purpose!
