Campfires, roasted marshmallows, boat rides, fishing off the pier, even a hike perhaps. Those were a few of the images I was conjuring up for what was to come this past weekend when we headed off to visit our friends, Rich and Jamie, at their lakeside summer camping home. Although, I almost didn’t go.
“I’ve got blogging to do…”
“Well, just bring the blog with you and come on up…”
“…Sure you won’t mind…?”
I spared them anyway…and didn’t bring the blog with…
Just a delicate little decoupaged camping tray.
It was in reality just an idea to use up the camping scrapbook paper left over from the decoupaged camping lamp.
When I made the camping lamp, I knew it wasn’t quite complete.
It needed a little something more.
I finally found that something more in a simple twine wrapped trim topper-offer.
Which led me back to the camping tray, and more ways to use the twine.
So with
left over pant legs in dark brown (from an old pair of cut-off shorts)
left over camping inspired scrapbook paper
and a left over, scratched up melamine tray from several summers ago;
I dazzled up a delicate little decoupaged camping tray.
It would be fair to call this tray “for light use only.”
Hey, we’re not all meant to endure the outdoors.
Some of us just want to look the part.
I hope you all had a great weekend!! ~ Amy

Did you take the camping crafts with you instead of the blog?

Oh girl… camping is not for everyone. I once had over 50 kids at my house for a camp out and it rained… and my tent didn’t have a top… and half the younger kids ended up on my living room floor. My last camping adventure. On the other hand.. I love camping crafts.. we carved our names onto wood with those wood burner thingys and everyone signed and decorated pillow cases… now that was the fun part.
So yes, camping crafts = FUN, Actually camping.. no thanks.

Being a creature of comfort, I leave camping to the brave! You really do make camping look pretty though! Almost makes me want to pack up my gear and head out.

So cute! What a fun idea! I just sold a lamp like that at my garage sale…now I wish I’d kept it and cuted it up a little like yours!
