Feeling Green Beaded Bottles

February 19, 2014 By Amy 7 Comments

Copper and green were my colors of choice when I took a little road trip this weekend to craft with Jen from Girl in the Garage  as she was hosting a Hometalk / Pinterest craft party at her local Michaels store. It was a short trip, just a little over and hour away, but well worth it to have a chance to not only meet up with a fellow blogger, but to craft with her as well.

Jen had made these cute and stunning bejeweled bottles for the event. Of course, now I wanted to make some too!!

Copper and green beaded bottles made with Michaels suppliesThe beauty of glass bottles is that no matter what color they are, you can see through them. When they’re perched on a window sill they soak up all the daylight and create a glow in the room (even if there’s a foot or two of snow on the ground). I don’t know about anybody else, but getting a little extra glow any time of the year makes me smile!

While pulling my supplies together at the store, it was a little challenging to pick out bottle colors and then beaded embellishments to match, you know, to get just the right combination.

Jen coached me along, as I can tend to over think everything. I made several trips down the store isles, but in the end decided on green glass bottles and copper toned jewels! Once I had my materials picked out, the project  was really quite easy from there.

Jen mixed and matched both her bottle and jewel colors for a very eye catching curio. You can see the full tutorial for this project from Girl in the Garage here.

Jen was one of 100 bloggers to participate in the Michaels crafting event around the nation. You can see a whole round-up of projects made by the bloggers here.

It was truly awesome meeting Jen this past weekend. She is very stylish and talented, and a total sweet heart! Most definitely worth the road trip, not to mention that now I have a little copper and green to perk up the room as we keep waiting… and waiting… and waiting for spring to arrive.

Hope you are having a great day ~ Amy

These are fantastic. They would make wonderful centerpieces for a wedding or just a decorative piece in your window! Gorgeous. I have a blue bottle that I might try this on. Thanks for the inspiration Amy.

Yeay, I love your bottles – I’m so glad you like them too! The little beads and jewels really do make plain bottles look stunning. It was great meeting you too Amy! 🙂
