Not everyone has a Valentine this year. As I was a single parent for many years, I myself have had many Valentine-less Valentine’s Days. Sure there were a few pity parties along the way, but in the end, I came to believe that I was exactly where I was supposed to be, and that was okay. That is when I officially declared Valentine’s Day an excuse to pamper myself.
To love thyself, is to accept that you are a part of this earth just like the wind, the rain, the mountains, the ocean. As the earth is allowed its imperfections, thus so are you. When you know how to accept and love yourself, then you will know how to truly accept and give love to others.
It wasn’t ever over the top pampering of course, it was really just doing a little something extra for myself that I normally wouldn’t do.
One year I bought my favorite perfume from one of those make-up counters at Marshall Field’s, and it just so happened that they were giving away free facials and make overs!!! That was out of the ordinary for me because I don’t normally wear much make up or take the time to give myself facials. But it did feel very luxurious…
and I felt kind of special!!
This year I SPLURGED and bought a faux fur comforter for the guest bedroom. Yep, Happy Valentine’s Day to me! If your wondering, my hubby jumped right on this band wagon and nabbed himself up a new tool organizer.
Not sounding very traditional, right?

I love all of these ideas for Valentine’s! My husband and I only get gifts for the girls and then we take the family on a family date and then we go on a me and him date. We like to spread the love around the family.
