Frosted Glass Ghost Cake Plate Stand

The wind has been whipping up outside and the images of bed sheet ghosts swaying from the front porches in the neighborhood I grew up in is always what first comes to mind.

I found a domed cake plate set while at the thrift store.

So I thought I’d make a little something fun and ghostly by painting the cake plate with frosted glass spray paint and adding some fun ghost faces.

I also picked up a thrifted glass vase to turn it into a cake plate stand.

 This was an easy project.

– I painted the dome, the bottom of the plate and the glass vase with frosted glass spray.

– Then I used E6000 glue to attach the bottom of the vase to the bottom of the glass plate.

– Lastly,  I googled some ghost faces. I looked for the simplest drawings because I didn’t want to much detail.

– I drew them on with a pencil and then I painted them in with a black paint marker. I put four faces on the cake plate dome altogether.

Taking a little break to get my spook on was in order, and I wasn’t sure how this ghost cake plate was going to turn out once it was done, but I think it’s pretty darn cute, how about you?

If you feel like you are us for a real scare, check out where our very scary basement project started out last Fall. We’ve come a long way, but we still have quite a ways to go.

Well that is just way too cute! I love that you can use a paint marker and I love the fact that it’s so tall.

This is so cute!, I really like the frosted glass and that you used paint and not vinyl.

I have never used the spray frost, but judging from how cute that turned out I should give it a try in something.
