If, If, If and the Very Scary Basement

Did I ever tell you that I’m afraid to go in my basement?

It’s very scary down there. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to go down there either.

spider websThere is no shortage of spider webs…or spiders for that matter.

back in the laundry roomSometimes when I go down in the basement,

I feel like there are giant spider webs just waiting to touch me as I pass through to the laundry room.

enter laundry roomOften when I’m down there alone… I sense that there are “others” in my presence.

full viewSometimes I can’t help but feel like there are eyes watching me from dark corners.

kitty know something is upKitty, with his feline instincts knows that something is up, too.

About the if, if, ifs…. Well we’re planning to move in the spring,

that is, if my husband’s job promotion goes as planned.

If we can find the right house. If we can find someone to rent this one, and so on.

Obviously we are going to have to un-scarify this basement!!!

Our fist line of attack was to locate where the demons were getting in.

Hole in the windowWe are pretty sure we found the culprit in this big gaping hole in our window well.

Hole in the window2

Window ledge repaired2So Ken mixed up a concoction from his bag of tricks-n-treats

and blocked off that portal of evil with cement.

patch wall crackHe also repaired the mortifying crack in the foundation

that was sure to be letting in one form of diabolical spirit or another.

He’s a pretty handy guy to have around when the situation gets this scary.

****

More to come on our plans moving plans, I promise.

Once we are sure we’ve exorcised all the basement demons,

we plan to do an EXTREME Budget Basement remodel.

Although, I’m still working on the kitchen and linen closet, lest we forget… lest I forget.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a haunted week ~ Amy

I love this post! The ghosts and ‘eyes’ were a great touch, and i must say your timjng is perfect,

We will need to move in the Spring too. We can compare notes.

The first thing i thought when i saw your basement pictures was how i would love to get my paws on it and do a makeover! I will look forward to what you do with it, but if you are moving, you are on the right track to keep it budget friendly.

I’m with you…I do not love basements. I think they all contain some kind of portal of evil!! LOL! But…I’m excited for you and hope your guy gets his promotion and I hope you find a house that has zero portals!!

Well, I think the number one thing you need to look for in your next house is a less scary basement. Maybe you need to bring Kitty with you while house hunting to give you the all clear.

I have a Portal of Evil too – I do believe it may be scarier than yours! It’s 100 years old and completely unfinished and dirty and dusty and ghost ridden and monsters lurk under the stairs. I am going to have it painted – maybe I can hire the ghosts to help – I hear they are cheap labor!
