Enchanting Charms from Silo Hill Farm

Remember when you were younger, and there was always that one person that everyone wanted to sit next because they were the funnest, friendliest, most easy going person in the room? Well as I’ve come to know Danni from Silo Hill Farm blog, there is no doubt in my mind that she is one of those “funnest, friendliest, most easy going person-in-the-room” kind of girls. I’m honored to have her here today as a guest. And if you haven’t been over to her blog, yet, then you have to stop on by where you’ll find her crafting, remodeling her home or dishing out awesome recipes in the funnest kind of fashion.

Hello Stow and Tell U fans! I’m Danni from Silohill
Farm blog and I’m happy to be here at Amy’s blog today! I get a lot of
great crafting inspiration from Amy and some good travel tips too!

Today I’ve made something fun and easy out of something you probably see all the time.

I’m not a jewelry maker, but I have a few supplies and I dabble in it every once in a while. I keep promising myself I’ll get into it more, but then I do things like buy a sewing machine. (Something else I know nothing about, but hope to.)  Anyway….see that metal clasp at the top? Once I noticed one, I started seeing them everywhere.

It’s one of those little things I look for at thrift stores and garage sales. I think that belt in the center was a dime. Seriously, the belt was ugly, but the clasp was worth a dime to me.

Whenever Michaels or Hobby Lobby has a sale on jewelry beads and charms, I find something that catches my eye, buy it and throw it in the box with all of my jewelry making supplies wait for inspiration to hit and make something fun.

So using some eye pins, jump rings, those awesome clasps and a charm or two…..

I made some fun purse jewelry. Yep, I like to dress up my purses. Sometimes they even match my outfit.

I made this one with the Eiffel Tower charm on it for my “little black dress” purse. Charming n’est pas?

Here it is again on my wallet, which sometimes I just clip to my jeans belt loop when I’m doing some serious two-handed shopping. It’s a tiny purse and just holds my license, some money, a credit card and some chapstick. Can you see the 2 swivel clasps that attach the strap to the purse? I’m telling you, those swivel clasps are everywhere.

When these charms aren’t glamming up a purse or two, I can hang them on just about anything. Don’t they look darling dangling from an old key on a chippy old wardrobe?

Sometimes the Eiffel Tower one hangs on a little sign, to remind me that a trip to Paris is just a dream away…

The Enchanted charm sometimes does double duty as picture jewelry, reminding me that my coastal themed bedroom is enchanting.

The basic directions for making these simple charms can be found on my post where I made THIS bracelet.

Valentine Bracelet

A few other jewelry posts I’ve done are these….

Fingerprint Necklace
Plant Jewelry

Yeah…I made jewelry for my plants. Why not? Playing with beads is just plain fun and I’m hoping do to more of it this winter.

Thank you Amy for letting me guest post here today at Stow and Tell U.

  *****

Danni, these are entirely too cute. I love the idea that you can make one as a reminder for a dream yet to be fulfilled…like a trip to Paris!!

I’m in awe that you actually made jewelry from your plants??
I’ve always loved your fingerprint necklace, too, and thought that would be such a special gift to give from a child…
Thank you to Danni from Silo Hill Farm for being a guest here today!! xoxo
Thanks to all of your for stopping by today, as well! ~ Amy
