Deep Sea Fishing Cancun, Mexico

Beyond the sandy white beaches, tropical weather and renowned night life, Cancun Mexico has a lot more to offer. While visiting Cancun recently to stand up in his best friend’s wedding, my son and his buddies chartered a boat and went deep sea fishing.

Although this particular trip was just for the guys, it is a pastime enjoyed by women and families alike.

During a four hour excursion out on the Gulf of Mexico, one could catch fish such as barracuda, tuna or marlin, depending upon the season. The crew provides the expertise and refreshments.

You can take your catch with you at the end of the trip, or have the crew cook it for you when back on shore, or even offer your catch back up to the crew.

By the end of the excursion, Kevin and his friends had reeled in 14 barracuda.

Several of his friends had never gone on a fishing excursion before this trip, but they enjoyed it so much they’re sure to go out again.

I know how much Kevin enjoyed his experience, so I wanted to help him capture some of these images creatively. Check out the Photo Framing Project made with plywood and mdf blocks.

Located on the Gulf, Cancun offers a wide range of water activities and attractions, such as jungle boat tours, pirate ship cruises, sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and an underwater museum to name of few.

Here are a few links that have great information:

Remember to always travel with safety in mind, especially when traveling outside your own country. As a precaution, keep a link to your country’s embassy saved to your laptop or smart phone.

Here are a few if traveling to Mexico.

[…] My son is an avid fisherman, who is typically quite content to fish the local lakes and rivers.  Here is one of his most recent catches down at Kentucky Lake.  These lucky fish were all thrown back in the lake, too small yet, for a good sized meal. But last year his best friend got married down in Cancun and the guys had a chance to go deep sea fishing. […]
