Furniture Freshening and a Welcome Home Party

After 6 months working abroad in Dubai, my son is due back home in the states later this week!!! We’ve been cleaning and getting the townhouse in order for his arrival. He’ll be home a few weeks than off to his next assignment which will be home in the US and it should last a year or so.

Of course, finishing the basement is part of our goal by the time he comes home, and we’ll just about be there by then with a few exceptions.

freshening-furniture

These are the last of the pieces that need a little freshing to help them blend in with the rest of the decor in the basement.

The keyword here is “freshen”.

I’m hoping to freshen the look of these decor items!!!

Which is probably just the politically correct way of saying “furniture makeover….”

So, I’m going to get to work on these while my son is in visiting, and then I’ll show them too you as they’re done, and perhaps you can help me decide if it’s a “makeover” or a merely a “freshening”.

I’m off to do some more cleaning and make crock pot Italian beef sandwiches, at my son’s request.

Hope you are having a great week ~ Amy

[…] Both Ken and Kevin were quite please with the end result of not painting of the original wood-look, yet it had still had an update of sorts, you know, what do I keep calling it:  furniture freshening? […]
